Dylan Hawhee bio
Dylan was born and raised in the Sierra Nevada foothills of Northern California, and spent her early adulthood in Santa Cruz and San Francisco. After nearly a decade in emergency medicine as an EMT and paramedic, Dylan started studying massage to increase her knowledge of the body and to bring more awareness to the mind-body connection. This growing knowledge, as well as her work on the ambulance, sparked a deep desire to offer therapeutic support to fellow humans experiencing issues like anxiety, insomnia, chronic pain, and trauma recovery. A frequent acupuncture patient herself, Dylan completed the Master of Science in Oriental Medicine (MSOM) program at Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine College in Berkeley, CA, and became a licensed acupuncturist.
As a general practitioner, Dylan has worked with a variety of patients, in many different settings. Her experience includes community acupuncture clinics throughout the bay area, the San Francisco Homeless Prenatal program, the student clinic at the UC Berkeley’s Athletic Department, and the staff wellness program at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital. She also studied as a student intern under Robert Levine, L.Ac in Berkeley, CA for 3 years. A recent transplant to Santa Rosa after living in Oakland for nearly 20 years, Dylan loves the natural beauty and friendly faces of the area.
A lifelong learner, Dylan continues building her knowledge through seminars and workshops, and she has also received training at Shikoku Medical College in Japan, completing a five-day intensive program for Japanese style facial rejuvenation acupuncture and moxibustion.
